Machine printers, also known as print ‘minders’, operate and maintain printing presses.
The work involves taking instructions from the press operator and setting up the press with the right materials for the production run.
As a Machine printer, work would involve:

As a Finishing Operative, work would involve:
Working with some of the latest print finishing equipment in the market place and be able to gain extensive knowledge from our current experienced employees.
This role is very varied and experience on all finishing machinery will be given throughout the apprenticeship. You will be working closely with the print supervisor in a busy environment with deadlines to be met.
Good Maths and English skills are required in order to be able to understand and interpret job details and instructions - however no formal qualifications are required for the right candidate as functional skills are available throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.
Full time role will be available as a fully qualified Printer or Finishing operative. Company progression available.

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour as of 1st of April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds; £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.83 for those over 25.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
