Business Administration Apprentice

An apprenticeship opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to be based in our procurement office. This apprenticeship will have a focus on procurement as well as business administration.

Short Description:

Providing office support including customer and employee support.  Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity.  Researching company data and archived reports, keeping computer databases up to date.  Interacting with clients either by phone or in person.  Answering phones and connecting calls to the proper department, taking phone messages and passing them on.  Following up on business communications, billing and ordering, communicating with suppliers and vendors.  The possibilities of helping accounts at times and raise sales invoices as well as purchase invoices.  Collecting and inputting company data.  Learning about the company’s mission and available products/services, educating clients about what products/services are available.  Building relationships with clients.  Preparing documents by printing, copying and binding.  Writing and editing company correspondence.  Collecting and sorting the post.  Acting as a personal assistance to the executive team.  Scheduling appointments and events.  Ordering office stationery and other supplies.  Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments.  Participating in office meetings and taking meeting minutes. Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements.  Being ready for any other administrate tasks that are required.

Mostly working alongside the sales team as additional support in providing excellent customer service.  Key responsibilities will include answering customer and supplier calls.  Taking messages and also dealing with any customer requests/queries.  Obtaining quotations from suppliers along with lead times.  To attend a daily morning production meeting and bringing up anything relevant to the meeting. Making clients aware of the services/products PPS can provide.  Raising jobs bag for the design and production teams.  To assist other members of staff with general admin duties.  Acting as a personal assistant to the executive team, taking messages, making calls on their behalf, finding archived jobs and filing. Being ready for any other admin tasks that may be needed.



Working hours:

e.g. 9am – 5pm


Future prospects description:

This should be completed so that candidates can see the opportunities which the vacancy could lead to, but this must be realistic.  A low starting wage may be offset by the prospects.



This has the potential to develop into a permanent, full time position within the company.  Either for a sales role or and office admin role.
